Janice Kosior,
CDPMA - Practice Manager
 Janice
is a CDPMA (Certified Dental Practice Management Administrator, one of only
30 in the State of Michigan.
In August of 1984 we
needed to hire someone to work in the business area of our practice.
While in the process of looking for someone, Janice came in to help us out
for a couple of weeks; fortunately, she never left.
Over the years Jan has
become one of the key people in our office. If Dr. Loewen is
considered the C.E.O. of this small business, then Jan is the C.O.O. (Chief
Operations Officer) and C.F.O. (Chief Financial Officer) all wrapped into
one. Jan runs the day-to-day business of the office. Dr. Loewen
fondly states that because she does her job so well, he has been able to
enjoy being a dentist and doing dentistry for all these years.
Jan's knowledge of
dental insurance is unparalleled. She works as the patients' advocate
to make sure they get payment for treatment for which they are entitled.
She also will help
coordinate treatment and financing for those patients who are in need of
extensive dentistry.
Jan is also our OSHA
office, making sure we have our annual training for review and update on
OSHA and MIOSHA rules.
As if that weren't
enough responsibility, Jan will drop whatever she is doing, put on scrubs,
and perform duties as a chairside dental assistant when the need arises.
Janice has often said
"I love my job," and it is obvious that she enjoys her key role (or roles)
in our small, intimate office, as is evident from her infectious laugh and
cheerful personality.
Every business, big or
small, has a heart and soul. With her commitment and loyalty of Dr.
Loewen and this practice over so many years, Janice is unequivocally the
"heart and soul" of this office.
